Ice Hockey Fundraiser Aids Injured Military Personnel, Reflected in Ratings Report (POL-K: 230601-3-K)

On June 4, a special event is set to take place at Cologne Arena 2, as the city's Fire Department and Police teams face off in a benefit ice hockey game. The proceeds from this exciting match will be donated to support injured deployment forces in Ratingen.

The game will be attended by several high-profile officials, including Interior Minister Herbert Reul and Cologne Fire Chief Dr. Christian Miller. Other dignitaries expected to attend include Police President Falk Schnabel, County Commissioner Thomas Hendele, City Director Andrea Blome, Head of Police Mettmann Thomas Schulte, and Ratingen Fire Chief René Schubert.

For those who wish to watch the game but find the Arena's capacity limited, a live broadcast will be available in the garage hall of Fire Station 10. This spacious area can accommodate between 800 to 1000 spectators. Free parking is available on the gravel parking lot at Walter-Pauli-Ring, and additional parking can be found on the backside of the Police Presidency in the public parking garage of the Cologne Arcaden.

The Cologne Police Social Welfare Association has pledged a donation of 100 euros for every puck, regardless of which goal it lands in. The total amount raised will be announced after the game. The Police Trade Union, Cologne branch, has also pledged a donation of 1,000 euros.

On June 2, there's an opportunity to watch both teams train at Kölnarena 2. The team coaches and Fire Chief Dr. Miller, who will be participating in the training, will be available for media interviews around 9:45 AM after the training.

Several officials, including Interior Minister Herbert Reul and Cologne Fire Chief Dr. Christian Miller, will be available for interviews and photos in front of Cologne Arena 2 at 3 pm on June 4. Media representatives are asked to inform the press office at [email protected] by Friday afternoon (4 pm) if they wish to attend the game in Cologne Arena 2.

Donation accounts for those who wish to contribute have been provided. Spectators and supporters are encouraged to join this worthy cause and show their support for the injured emergency personnel in Ratingen. The game will not only be a thrilling event but also a chance to make a difference.
