Ian Moore reassigned to AHL as Ducks fine-tune 2025-26 roster

Ian Moore, a 23-year-old forward, has been reassigned to the San Diego Gulls in the AHL. The move comes as the Anaheim Ducks adjust their roster midway through the 2025-26 season. Moore, a third-round draft pick in 2020, has split time between the NHL and AHL this year.

Moore began his professional career after signing a two-year entry-level contract with Anaheim on April 12, 2025. He made his NHL debut later that season, stepping onto the ice for the first time in the league's top tier.

His first NHL goal arrived on November 6, 2025, in a game against the Dallas Stars. Since then, he has played 44 NHL games, recording 2 goals and 8 assists with a +1 rating. This season alone, he contributed 2 goals and 7 assists in 41 appearances for the Ducks.

Before turning pro, Moore spent four years at Harvard University. There, he tallied 9 goals and 47 assists across 122 games. His collegiate career followed a standout junior season with the Chicago Steel, where he helped win the Clark Cup in 2020-21. He also represented Team USA at the 2022 World Junior Championship.

Moore's AHL experience includes one game with the Gulls this season. Over his career, he has notched 1 goal and 4 assists in 10 AHL contests. His reassignment marks the 23rd time this season that Anaheim has sent a player to San Diego for development or roster adjustments.

The Ducks now have one fewer forward on their NHL roster. Moore will continue his development with the Gulls, where he has already logged limited playing time this year. His performance in the AHL could influence future call-ups to Anaheim.
