HyFlex® Hydrogen Generator and Transformer Services Win 2026 SEAL Sustainability Awards
Two major awards were secured at the 2026 SEAL Business Awards. The Sustainable Product Award went to HyFlex®, a hydrogen-powered generator designed to replace diesel units. The Sustainable Service Award also recognised efforts in transformer lifecycle solutions.
The honours highlight advancements in clean energy and sustainable grid technology.
HyFlex® stands out as a zero-emission alternative to traditional diesel generators. A single 200-kVA unit can eliminate up to 300 tons of diesel use each year, preventing roughly 1,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
The system produces electricity, heat, and water without combustion or harmful byproducts. Marco Berardi, Head of Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service, praised the progress of HyFlex® in reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The second award focused on transformer sustainability. The service extends the lifespan of transformers while cutting demand for raw materials and preserving embedded carbon. Jonas Wernli, Global Product Group Transformers Service Manager, emphasised the commitment to innovative lifecycle solutions.
The company's website supports these efforts by offering tools for transformer performance and resource efficiency. Both awards reflect a broader push to integrate sustainability into electrical infrastructure.
The recognitions confirm the impact of HyFlex® and transformer services in lowering emissions and waste. The technology and solutions are now positioned to play a larger role in sustainable energy systems. Further adoption could accelerate the transition away from fossil-dependent power generation.
