Murderer admits to fatally stabbing wife: 17 victims confirmed - Husband admits to inflicting fatal stabbings on wife, leaving her with 17 stab wounds
In a shocking turn of events, a 68-year-old East Frisia resident has admitted to the gruesome murder of his wife. On trial in Aurich, he described the event as an outburst of rage, leaving his wife with 17 knife wounds to her neck and face. He is currently charged with manslaughter. The victim bled to death as the prosecution laid out during the indictment reading.
On the very day of the tragic event in January, the man dialed the police in Emden and his children via a family chat with a chilling message, "[I’ve just killed your mother] - this beast." Today, he expresses remorse but showed little signs of it during his prior interrogation, stating, "I killed my wife, I’ve moved on."
Cratered Union
The defendant, a retired postman, delved deep into the constant money disputes that dominated their union, claiming, "It was always about the money." He attributed their strained finances to his wife's reckless spending habits, accusing her of draining their bank account with lavish furniture, garments, dining out, and vacations. The joint account was often left bare or overdrawn at the end of each month.
He maintained their marriage, though frail, was kept intact solely to appease societal norms and for the sake of their children.
Collision over vehicle mishap
Three underlying factors culminated in the fatal argument that day: a parking lot ruckus involving their vehicle, his wife's false claim of an unknown perpetrator, and a subsequent lie about the cause of the damage. The defendant informed the court that his wife initially alleged an unidentified person had damaged their vehicle with a trailer in a supermarket parking lot. However, further investigations revealed that she herself had caused the damage.
Upon confrontation, the altercation erupted. He wanted to contact their daughter and expose his wife's deceit, but she obstructed him, claiming, "She was like a madwoman, attacking me," according to the defendant. In a fit of rage, he stormed to the kitchen, seized a knife, and assaulted her. The prosecution alleged he brandished a knife with a 19-centimeter-long blade from their kitchen knife block.
The trial will continue with testimonies from several witnesses and experts. Anticipated outcome: a verdict by mid-July.
