Hürth's Election Office announces the election of the Regional Council

The runoff election for the Hürth district council is scheduled for September 28, 2025, following a lack of an absolute majority in the previous election. Here's a guide to help you understand your voting options for this important event.

Voters who have applied for postal voting for the runoff election will receive their voting documents by post. Those who have not received their documents by 3 pm on September 26 should report to the voting office to ensure participation. The election office recommends collecting postal voting documents from the Hürth town hall in advance or voting directly on site to bypass postal transit time.

If you choose to vote in person, the appropriate polling station will be stated on your voting notification. Voting normally occurs at the designated polling places linked to voter districts, and the exact voting room can be found via local government resources or on your election notification. For Hürth, it is recommended to consult the official Hürth municipal website or contact the local election office directly for this detail.

On election day, a valid personal ID or passport is sufficient for voting at the polling station or the voting office. Voters who have applied for postal voting for the runoff election and wish to vote in person must present their postal voting documents and the enclosed voting permit.

The voting office is located in room 211 of the town hall, and it has the following opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 4 pm
  • Saturday: 8 am - 12 pm

The dispatch of postal voting documents for the runoff election is expected to start on September 19. However, there is a tight timeframe for resending postal voting documents, especially for international shipments, before the election day on September 28.

For those who have not yet applied for postal voting, an online postal vote application is available for eligible voters. The election office can be contacted for questions via phone (02233 / 53-780) or email (wahlamt@our website.de).

Lastly, it's important to note that only postal voting documents that arrive at the town hall by 4 pm on September 28 will be counted. The runoff election will take place without sending out new voting notifications.

We encourage all eligible voters to participate in the runoff election and have their voices heard. For more information, visit the official Hürth municipal website or contact the local election office. The "Polling Station Finder" is also available for locating the polling station.
