The World Championships are heating up, and one of the most anticipated events is the women's 400m hurdles final. This race promises to be fast, competitive, and full of drama.

Norwegian sensation Karsten Warholm, fresh off his world record-breaking performance at the Tokyo Olympics, will be in the spotlight. Warholm expressed confidence in his performance but acknowledged that he will face strong competition from Rai Benjamin and Alison dos Santos, both American athletes who have dominated the 400m hurdles event in recent years.

Warholm finished second in his semi-final, securing an outside lane for the final. Despite this, he has been performing exceptionally well this season, winning the Silesia Diamond League in an impressive time of 46.28 seconds, the third fastest time ever run over the 400m hurdles.

The women's 400m hurdles final is expected to be a battle between the American duo of Anna Cockrell and Dalilah Muhammad, and Panama's Gianna Woodruff. Woodruff is a training partner of Cockrell and Muhammad, and her presence adds another layer of excitement to the race.

Muhammad, seeking one final glorious hurrah at the age of 35, and Cockrell, who emphasised the need for poise and a competitive edge, will be looking to challenge Warholm's dominance. However, the favorite to win is Dutch athlete Femke Bol, who has completed an incredible six Diamond League seasons unbeaten.

Bol has also expressed her desire to run her fastest race of the season in the final. Meanwhile, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, a double Olympic champion and world record holder, will not be participating in the women's 400m hurdles final as she has opted to run the 400m flat.

The competition in the women's 400m hurdles final is expected to be fierce, with Benjamin stating after the semi-finals that he is ready for another 'historic' tussle with Warholm and dos Santos. Warholm, in typical fashion, was pictured wearing a plastic Viking helmet after winning the 400m hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics, and he will undoubtedly bring that same spirit to the World Championships.

As the women's 400m hurdles final takes place, spectators are in for a treat. This race promises to be a thrilling end to the World Championships, with each athlete bringing their A-game to the track.
