Huntington-Whiteley shares reasons for shifting family residence, previously settled in L.A for ten years, to London.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Strikes a New Path for Her Family
Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 38, reveals her reasons behind moving her clan from sunny Los Angeles to foggy London, after a decade of living the Cali dream. "It was always the plan to raise our kiddos in Blighty," she shares with The Times.
Huntington-Whiteley shares two young ones with her beau, Jason Statham, 57 - Jack Oscar Statham, seven, and Isabella James Statham, three. The family's decision to uproot was not a hasty one, and it came down to a few major factors.
For starters, education is the backbone of their decision, hankering for the UK's top-notch education system for their offspring. The British countryside serves as their children's playground, growing up with their adorable British accents in tow. Statham's parents live near their new abode, providing essential support, with frequent visits from Huntington-Whiteley's family as well.
Work, too, played a significant role in their relocation. With Statham's high-profile acting career, staying in LA would have meant lengthy separations, as filming commitments kept him away. So, the move to London means Statham can work on UK-based projects, making him more present in the family's day-to-day activities.
Huntington-Whiteley concedes that she does miss the sun-kissed days of LA and its eternal optimism, but she's grown to appreciate life in London once again. Their kids are thriving, with long visits to Huntington-Whiteley's childhood stomping ground in Devon. The Devon countryside offers them a childhood analogous to Huntington-Whiteley's, complete with dirt-filled adventures, just as she had experienced.
While the couple has embraced their new life in the UK, they've not been without a few bumps along the way. A recent spat with neighbors occurred when the couple started utilising helicopter rides, causing a stir in the countryside, even rattling some horses.
The family invested a hefty £15 m in three plush London residences, including a seven-bedroom mansion and a lavish £7.5 m three-bedroom townhouse in Chelsea.
