Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok Visits Kazakhstan to Boost Bilateral Trade
Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok is set to visit Kazakhstan from October 1-3, 2025. The visit comes as bilateral trade between the two nations reaches nearly $200 million, with a significant increase in the first quarter of this year. The trade surge, a 37% increase, reflects a robust relationship that has seen Hungarian investments in Kazakhstan's economy exceed $370 million. Together, the countries have a joint investment portfolio of around $700 million, focusing on sectors like machinery, agriculture, and logistics. Presidents Tamás Sulyok and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will hold talks during the visit to discuss further strengthening their strategic partnership. This is not the first time the leaders meet; President Sulyok previously visited Astana in October 2021. The upcoming talks aim to build on existing collaborations, particularly in energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. The visit will also include attending the plenary session of the international forum Digital Bridge 2025, reflecting the countries' commitment to fostering growth and cooperation in various sectors. With trade and investments flourishing, the leaders' meeting promises to solidify and expand the strong ties between Hungary and Kazakhstan.
