News Article: Hülkenberg and Sauber Eye Strong Performance in Baku Grand Prix

The 2025 Formula 1 season's third phase commences with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku on September 21st. Nico Hülkenberg, representing the Haas F1 Team, is looking forward to the race, hoping to secure a much-needed tangible result after his last podium finish in Silverstone.

Hülkenberg has not achieved a tangible result since his podium finish in Silverstone. However, he is optimistic about the Baku Grand Prix, citing Sauber's competitive performance in Monza. Sauber has been consistent in scoring points on most tracks this season, suggesting they could perform well in the midfield in Baku.

Gabriel Bortoleto, Hülkenberg's teammate at Sauber, scored four valuable points for the team at the last race in Italy. Sauber trails Williams by 31 points in the Formula 1 season standings, but the tight fight for fifth place in the championship could make for an exciting race in Baku.

Williams currently leads the midfield with 86 points, 24 points ahead of Aston Martin, who in turn have only a one-point advantage over Toro Rosso in the Formula 1 season standings. The team from Grove has been consistent, with their drivers regularly finishing in the points.

Hülkenberg has expressed concerns about the long straights and the importance of slipstream in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. He also shared his thoughts on the unique nature of the Baku track, stating that turns 1 to 3 feel like driving into a wall.

Despite the challenges, Hülkenberg is a fan of the sprint format in Formula 1 and is open to an increase in the number of sprint races. However, he is not in favor of the reverse grid proposal for Formula 1 races.

Unfortunately, Hülkenberg retired in the last race due to a hydraulic failure. He will be hoping to avoid such incidents in Baku and secure a strong finish for himself and Sauber.

Meanwhile, McLaren has already secured the constructors' championship before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. This leaves the midfield teams, including Sauber and Williams, fighting for the remaining positions in the championship standings. The Azerbaijan Grand Prix promises to be an exciting race, with several teams vying for valuable points.
