Hulk portrayed by Mark Ruffalo to appear in Spider-Man: Fresh Start
In the world of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the web-slinging hero is gearing up for a brand new adventure. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, an upcoming sequel to the Spider-Man series, is set to hit theatres on July 31, 2026.
Tom Holland will once again don the red and blue suit as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, a role he finds akin to reconnecting with an old friend. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Dr. Strange's spell erased Spider-Man's secret identity from public memory, Peter will focus on protecting New York City from street-level crime. However, the film promises multiverse-level stakes and features superhero and vigilante conflicts before they unite against bigger threats.
Joining Tom Holland in this new journey are familiar faces. Zendaya will return as MJ, Peter's former classmate and ex-girlfriend. Jacob Batalon will reprise his role as Peter's best friend Ned. Michael Mando, who played the Scorpion in Spider-Man: Homecoming, will also return as a significant adversary.
New additions to the cast include Sadie Sink, whose character remains a mystery, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. The Punisher, a vigilante who fights criminals by any means necessary, will initially clash with Spider-Man and Hulk before they team up. Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk, suggesting larger-scale conflicts beyond Spider-Man’s usual scope.
The filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will take place in Glasgow, using real locations for a more authentic feel. The production team plans to lean into old school filmmaking techniques to create a unique cinematic experience. A massive set piece is being put together in Glasgow, promising action-packed sequences for fans.
To add to the excitement, a new suit for Peter Parker has been unveiled. Fans are eagerly anticipating what is being put together for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with many expressing their excitement after Tom Holland's recent public statements about returning to the Spider-Man universe following COVID-19 restrictions.
With a stellar cast, a gripping storyline, and a return to classic filmmaking techniques, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be an exhilarating addition to the MCU. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the film's release date in 2026.
