HSV's Bakery Jatta: Fighting for a Comeback

HSV coach Merlin Polzin has stated that Bakary Jatta still has a perspective at the club, despite initially not being part of their plans for the upcoming season. Jatta, a player who has been important for his team and often caused troubles for opponents, finds himself in a difficult situation due to competition for places and coaching decisions.

The Gambian international has made 217 appearances for HSV since 2016, scoring 29 goals and providing 25 assists. However, his last Bundesliga appearance was before HSV's descent, and since their return to the first league, things have changed for him.

Polzin has been planning to give Jatta playing time in test games or for the U21 to maintain his rhythm and fitness. The coach's plan is to assess Jatta's performance in these games, which will determine his chances of becoming a fixed part of the HSV team again.

The club must cut four fit outfield players from the matchday squad, and Jatta is among those left out as he is considered surplus to the core team plans. He remains important to the club but has limited chances due to the competitive nature of the squad.

Jatta has accepted his difficult situation at HSV and supports the team in his own way. His last opportunity to play was during the international break in the test game against Hannover 96, which Polzin found positive.

Polzin has expressed his support for Jatta and appreciates his contributions to the team. The coach emphasizes that the final decision on Jatta's return depends on the player's own performances. Jatta can fight his way back into the team by proving his fitness, form, and value in training and potentially seizing opportunities when others are unavailable, showing commitment and performance to convince the coach to include him again.

As of now, there is no new information about a potential advertising agreement for Jatta. However, his return to the HSV team for Bundesliga games remains uncertain.

Despite the challenges, Jatta continues to support his team in his own way while not currently playing for HSV. With his determination and the support of Polzin, it will be interesting to see if Jatta can make a comeback to the HSV team.
