Valon Zumberi, a Kosovo-born Academy product of Hamburger SV, has formally announced his departure from the club after 15 years. Zumberi found himself sidelined for much of the season due to a complex knee injury sustained during pre-season professional training under Steffen Baumgart, preventing him from playing a competitive game in over a year. His most recent appearance, on May 17, 2024, was for FC Schaffhausen, a Swiss second-division team where he was loaned in the second half of the 2023/24 season.
Zumberi joined HSV's youth team from Norderstedt SV in the summer of 2010, making his way through the under-17, 19, and 21 teams. He made his 2. Bundesliga debut on November 12, 2022, in a 4-2 home win against Sandhausen, lasting just five minutes.
