Howard Stern Expresses Desire to Disregard COVID-19 Restrictions for a Knicks Game, Insisting on a Front-Row Seat

Rewritten Article:

Howard Stern, the renowned radio host, expresses a vivid interest in this week's Game 6 between the Knicks and Celtics, played out in New York City. Yet, he won't be gracing the court-side seats.

"I'm waiting for them to invite me," Stern said on his show this week. "My place in showbiz can be gauged by where they seat me at a Knicks game. If they put me in the second row, I'd walk away. I'm a first-row kind of person."

Stern underscores the importance of seating arrangements, highlighting that he'd rather skip the game than take a seat he finds less than stellar. "I'm very cognizant of where they seat me, and it matters deeply to me," he continued. "If they told me I wouldn't be in the first row, I'd turn my back and leave - it'd be a blow to my pride."

So, he'll catch the action from the comfort of his home.

It's unclear whether the Knicks franchise has overlooked Stern's relevance or wrongly assumed he was still isolating due to the pandemic.

Recent reports suggest Stern has been observing strict isolation due to fear of new virus variants.

Perhaps this explained the team's decision to withhold an invitation from the shock jock, as they likely felt there was no point in extending one if the NBA hadn't introduced a rule allowing only fully-vaccinated spectators to attend.

Since the dawn of the pandemic in 2020, Stern has only attended one Knicks game. Prior to his latest lockdown, he did manage to catch a game in 2022, but he wasn't as warmly welcomed as he'd hoped. Stern alleges that the current NBA players snubbed him while greeting Tracy Morgan and Chris Rock instead.

"I hope it's racial," Stern joked, hopeful that it wasn't a reflection of his age or dwindling career.

Nevertheless, Stern remains hopeful that the Knicks will grant him a courtside seat should they advance to the Finals. To achieve this, the Knicks must win at least two more games against Boston and four more against Indiana in the next round.

The Knicks' victories appear promising. According to FanDuel, New York is a strong favorite to win the Eastern Conference, with odds of +125.

Despite the positive outlook, Stern remains wary.

"I still think the Knicks are gonna slip up," he concluded. "I start to feel uneasy around that team."

On his show, Howard Stern expressed a strong desire to attend the Knicks-Celtics game in the first row, considering it a measure of his status in showbiz. However, his hope of attending the game from a prime spot seems uncertain, as he's been isolating due to fear of new virus variants.

Even if the Knicks advance to the Finals, Stern's entertainment-seeking spirit remains, hoping to secure a courtside seat for a thrilling sports experience. Yet, he also fears that the Knicks might disappoint him, just as they reportedly did with earlier game snubs.
