Unwinding After a Tough Loss: The DFB Team's Kebab Adventure in Berlin
Looking for a cure for the hangover after a tough 3:2 loss against Turkey in Berlin? Well, why not give a juicy kebab in Schöneberg a shot?
Following their disappointing performance in what felt like an away game atmosphere at the Olympic Stadium, the DFB team decided to indulge in a classic Berlin tradition. The day after the match, they skipped the usual currywurst or knuckle of pork and headed straight for a kebab joint.
Gathering for a Team Evening

At around 8 p.m., the DFB entourage rolled up to the beloved kebab restaurant "Hisar" on Yorckstraße in the Schöneberg district. Fans were surprised, and a photo session ensued. Afterward, the players and security retreated into the restaurant.
Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger (30), a native of Berlin-Neukölln, has been a frequent patron of this spot for years. Keles, the restaurant manager, revealed that Antonio was a regular even during his days with Hertha 03 Zehlendorf.
Kebab Cravings Among the DFB Stars
And so, not everyone opted for the classic kebab with garlic sauce. Some even had special requests:
►Antonio Rüdiger (30, Real Madrid): Döner kebap in bread with some cabbage, a little iceberg lettuce, and LOTS of herb sauce, sans garlic sauce.
►Leroy Sané (27, Bayern Munich): Döner kebap with LOADS of iceberg lettuce, plus herb AND garlic sauce.
►Thomas Müller (34, Bayern Munich): Döner kebap complete with a touch of hot sauce, ALAS, no garlic sauce.
►Ilkay Gündogan (33, FC Barcelona): Döner kebap with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, spicy sauce, and herb sauce, absent of garlic sauce.
Coincidentally, the coaching team placed their kebab orders prior, and delivery service was arranged. The bill for a delicious kebab at "Hisar": 6.50 euros.
Kebab as an antidote for the international match hangover? It works, according to Keles. The atmosphere? Wonderful - everyone was content. After an hour and a half, the players left his restaurant, hopping back into the team hotel "Grand Hyatt" on Potsdamer Platz.
