How a Magnet Dartboard at 18 Months Launched Luke Littler’s Darts Domination

Luke Littler’s rise in darts began when he was just a toddler. His parents, Anthony Buckley and Lisa Littler, nurtured his talent from the very start. By the age of nine, he was already competing—and winning—against older players in the U14 category.

Luke’s journey started at just 18 months old, when his father bought him a magnet dartboard. Anthony, a taxi driver from Warrington, and Lisa, who works at a scented candle shop, quickly saw their son’s potential. They encouraged him to focus on darts over football when he turned nine.

From a magnet board at home to world titles, Luke Littler’s career has been shaped by early dedication. His parents’ support and his own talent set the foundation for his success. The decision to prioritise darts at nine proved to be a turning point in his path to the top.
