West Indies Announce Squad for T20I Series Against Pakistan with Four Changes

The West Indies cricket team has revealed its squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, with four new faces making their way into the team. Shamar Joseph, Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, and Johnson Charles have been added to the squad, replacing Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, and Shimron Hetmyer.

Unfortunately, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, and Shimron Hetmyer have been ruled out of the T20I series due to injuries. Lewis has been sent home for monitoring his recovery ahead of the ODI leg starting August 8, while King and Hetmyer are still under assessment for fitness and availability for the ODI series.

Alzarri Joseph, on the other hand, has been rested for workload management and is not injured.

Shamar Joseph, who last played a T20I for West Indies in November 2024, is included in the squad as a replacement for Alzarri Joseph. Johnson Charles, who last played for West Indies in their 0-3 away T20I defeat against England in June, also makes a return. Alick Athanaze earns a recall, having last played a Test against Pakistan in January.

The series will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida. The first T20I between West Indies and Pakistan will be played on July 31, with the second and third T20Is scheduled for August 2 and August 3, respectively. Both T20I matches 2 and 3 will take place in Florida.

After the T20I series, West Indies will host Pakistan for three ODIs. The location for the ODI series will be the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. The first ODI between West Indies and Pakistan will be played on August 8, followed by the second ODI on August 10, and the third ODI on August 12.

The West Indies squad for the T20I series against Pakistan includes Shai Hope, Jewel Andrew, Alick Athanaze, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd.

The West Indies team will be hoping to put up a strong performance in the upcoming series against Pakistan. With the addition of some exciting young talent, they will be looking to make a mark and secure a series victory.
