Alright, let's dive into the excitement! WSV, the topic of everyone's chatter, has finally revealed their first competitive opponent, and it's none other than the asking Arminia Bielefeld, in the DFB-Pokal first round. But wait, there's more! Before they enter the Bundesliga fray, they'll have their feet wet with their inaugural Bundesliga match against none other than Eintracht Frankfurt – the boys' first opportunity to snatch some points on the road for the 2025/26 season! The beat kicks off on August 22, with Bayern München hosting RB Leipzig, but our boys take the stage a few days earlier.

Their roster includes some heavy hitters, like the Austrian internationals Romano Schmid, Marco Grüll, and the club captain Marco Friedl, all seasoned veterans. New head coach Horst Steffen, fresh off Elversberg, has also brought along a familiar face, Raphael Duarte, as his new assistant.

Now, let's talk about their fixtures – they'll go head-to-head with the current champs, Bayern München, and other powerhouses like RB Leipzig during the Bundesliga season. But first up, it's the Velberter IMS Arena and a showdown against Türkspor Dortmund on the very last weekend of July. Head coach Klingbeil is all grinning, confident in a wonderful pitch and a journey that won't tire the fans. In fact, he's hoping they'll roar like a 12th man in every game!

As for their opening derby, the highly-anticipated RW Oberhausen match-up will be their first home game, a perfect chance for the new additions to get a feel for the starting stadium. But until then, their sights are set on the Emscherinsel-Cup, where they'll face RWO on Saturday, followed by two more contests against the Regionalliga newcomer KFC Uerdingen and the U21 of FC Middlesbrough. Will Klingbeil reveal his starting lineup cards? Only time will tell! Stay tuned for more duels, derbies, and victories as the season unfolds, starting with their DFB-Pokal debut!

WSV, with their roster featuring Marco Schmid, Marco Grüll, and Marco Friedl, are preparing for their first Bundesliga season, where they will face European-league giants like Bayern München and RB Leipzig.
