Future hosting duties for NDR magazine 'Clear' will fall to her - Hosting German magazine "Klar" will be her responsibility.
Tanit Koch, an experienced journalist and opinionated moderator, has been appointed as the new co-host of the magazine "Klar", a joint production by North German Broadcasting (NDR) and Bavarian Broadcasting (BR).
Koch, who previously served as editor-in-chief of the print edition of the "Bild" newspaper from January 2016 until early 2018, brings a wealth of knowledge and unique perspective to the "Klar" format. After leaving the "Bild" newspaper due to disagreements with her then-boss, Koch was active as managing director of the news channel n-tv and as editor-in-chief of the central editorial office of the RTL media group.
During the 2021 federal election campaign, Koch led the election campaign communication for the CDU's chancellor candidate Armin Laschet. Her past roles, including her time at the "Bild" newspaper, are relevant to her current role in "Klar", as the aim of the magazine is to address controversial issues debated in society.
Koch's experiences and perspectives are expected to strengthen the profile of the "Klar" format. She will also contribute editorially to the format. Julia Ruhs, who has been moderating for BR, will continue to do so, while Koch expresses excitement about co-hosting with Ruhs.
The individual issues will be alternately produced by the North German and Bavarian Broadcasting. New episodes of "Klar" are set to air from 2026, with an increased number of episodes. The appointment of Koch follows the departure of Julia Ruhs from the same role.
Koch sees her appointment as an opportunity to contribute to the diversity of opinion in public broadcasting with her external perspective. The NDR and BR have engaged Koch as an experienced journalist and opinionated moderator for the "Klar" format, and she is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
