Hostile individual brutally murderers girlfriend, removing her head and attempting to dismantle her body at a flat in Scotland.

A wretched soul confessed to the gruesome, bloody slaying of his girlfriend and Decapitation of her lifeless body.

Ewan Methven, a 27-year-old scoundrel, mercilessly attacked Phoenix Spencer-Horn, a 21-year-old café and hotel worker, in their top-floor one-bedroom flat in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire. To evade justice, Methven feigned his girlfriend's continued existence to her mother.

Methven ventured to the High Court in Glasgow this week, where he conceded his heinous acts and attempting to dodge justice.

He acknowledged throttling Phoenix, who hailed from nearby Strathaven, and repeatedly striking her with knives or similar tools. The monster also admitted using a knife or similar instrument to sever Phoenix's head and attempting to dismember her limbs and torso. Furthermore, he repeated instances of pretending in telephone messages to her mother, Alison Spencer, that Phoenix Spencer-Horn was alive and well, despite her actual demise.

Methven, a first-time offender facing a life sentence when he returns to court next month, showed no emotion, other than bowing his head in the dock after his chilling admissions. When escorted from the courtroom, a man dressed in a black suit shouted "beast" at the wretched soul.

Defense attorney Tony Graham KC claimed that Phoenix's family, friends, and society would regard Methven's actions as "the personification of evil."

Significant Details

The twisted couple had been dating for two years before the horrific event. They had recently moved into the flat where the nightmare unfolded. Phoenix was dedicated to part-time jobs at both the Strathaven Hotel and a local coffee shop.

On the day of the killing, November 16, Phoenix was said to be in “good spirits.” Methven had texted her during her shift, expressing feelings of loneliness due to her work schedule. Phoenix expressed her apologies to her boyfriend.

The postman had been working earlier that same day, claiming he was then going home to "chill." Methven ordered a takeaway for the evening, and the couple enjoyed their meal upon Phoenix's return.

Her last communication with her mother took place at 9:37pm, a devastating telephone call claiming she was at home having dinner. Tragically, this was the last interaction between mother and daughter.

A neighbour downstairs reported hearing "loud noises and hurried footsteps" around midnight, during what was determined to be Methven's murderous spree. Analysis of Methven's phone activity revealed increased movement around this time, followed by prolonged periods of accessing pornography from 8:12am through to 6:39pm on November 17, with the perverse monster viewing a pornographic video site 170 times.

With the grim discovery of Phoenix's lifeless body, there can be no doubt that Ewan Methven stands as a reminder of the worst our world beholds.
