Hospital Visit Snapshot: Pope Francis Captured on Camera - Hospital Visitation: First Image of Pope Francis Revealed

Want a glimpse of the man behind the mitre? Here's the initial photo of a sprightly 88-year-old Pope Francis, post his Gemelli Hospital admission on the 14th of February. The image captures the head of the Roman Catholic Church, vividly, conducting mass in the 10th floor chapel of the very same hospital.

Health Status: Holding Steady

Fret not, well-wishers! According to recent updates from Vatican News on the 16th of March, the Pontiff's health condition is steady as a rock, courtesy of his dedicated medical team. Francis has been under the care of the Gemelli Hospital in the Eternal City, battling bronchitis initially, followed by diagnoses of double pneumonia and a tricky polymicrobial infection.

A peek into the Vatican-released image reveals the Pope taking solace in the small sacred space near his room, where he's been gently bowing his head in daily prayer. So far, the Pope has only hosted a brief audio message in gratitude for the collective well-wishing during the evening rosary on March 6th in St. Peter's Square.

Onward with Therapy

The Vatican press office announced that last Sunday, the Pope soldiered on with his prescribed respiratory and physical therapy sessions, spending the day engaging in prayer, rest, and a smidgen of work. Surprisingly, no visitors dropped by, and there'll be no medical bulletin made public on the following day.

As of Saturday, the Vatican observed that Francis's condition remains steady, albeit requiring more time in the hospital for thorough recovery. The prospect of celebrating an impressive 12th anniversary as Pope while tucked away in the hospital certainly doesn't dampen the spirit of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, an Argentine born, who assumed the pontificate on March 13, 2013.

Stay tuned for updates, as we continue lifting prayers for the Pontiff's speedy and full recovery.
