Screamfest Horror Film Festival Celebrates 25th Edition
The Screamfest Horror Film Festival, the longest-running horror festival in the United States, is set to celebrate its 25th edition from Oct. 7 to Oct. 16 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. This year's event promises a thrilling lineup of premieres, including West Coast, World, and North American premieres.
Kicking off the festival on Oct. 7 is BT Meza's "Affection," starring Jessica Rothe. The opening night film follows a character named Ellie who suffers from a disturbing condition that repeatedly resets her memory. Ellie's struggle to regain her past and recognise her loved ones forms the crux of the story.
Among the West Coast Premieres is "Influencers," directed by Kurtis David Harder. Another notable film in this category is "Appofeniacs," directed by Chris Marrs Piliero.
The festival will also feature several world premieres, such as "ANSWR," "Big Baby," "Pitfall," "Shed," and "CognAitive." However, the search results do not provide information about who will direct the film "CognAitive" at its premiere in the USA.
"Dooba Dooba," directed by Ehrland Hollingsworth, will have its Los Angeles Premiere at the festival. Another Notable Short with an LA Premiere is "Devil's Prism," directed by Kika Magalhães.
The Notable Shorts category will also include "The Mortician's Daughter," directed by Elwood Quincy Walker, and "The Sequence," directed by Joe Bandelli. The latter will have its World Premiere at the festival.
In addition to the films, the festival will also host the U.S. premiere of "The Devil Whispered My Name." A highlight of the event will be Doug Bradley's return to the "Hellraiser" franchise as Pinhead in "Hellraiser: Revival." Bradley will be reprising his role after a 20-year hiatus.
Clive Barker's "Hellraiser: Revival," a single-player survival horror action game, will also have an exclusive gameplay screening at the festival. This promises to be a treat for fans of the horror genre.
With a diverse and exciting lineup, the Screamfest Horror Film Festival is shaping up to be an unmissable event for horror enthusiasts. Don't miss out on the chance to witness the premieres of these thrilling films and immerse yourself in the world of horror.
