Lady Charlotte's Triumphant Win at the Diana Trial in Hoppegarten

Charlotte Lady Obtains Victory in Hoppegarten's Diana Trial - Hoppegarden's Diana trial verdict: Lady Charlotte emerges victorious.

Hoppegarten Racing Grounds (dpa/bb) - In a heart-pounding finish, the favored Bay Mare Lady Charlotte, ridden by Adrie de Vries, took home the Diana Trial (Europa Group III) crown at Hoppegarten. Amid roars from a crowd of 9,800 spectators, including former Berlin mayors Klaus Wowereit and Michael Müller, Lady Charlotte crossed the finish line after 2000 meters in 2:08.9 minutes.

Nicoreni, the clear frontrunner and equally-favored mount of jockey Andrasch Starke, snatched the runner-up spot, with Lady Charlotte edging ahead by a neck. Fire and Ice (Rene Piechulek) came in third, lagging behind by two lengths.

"Lady Charlotte is an extraordinary mare, and her performance today was another testament to that," exclaimed de Vries, beaming with pride. "The rain today softened the ground, and she prefers that surface. She's now undefeated in four runs."

Your Eyes Peeled for Düsseldorf

Entrepreneur Marian Ziburske, Lady Charlotte's owner, expressed his excitement about her upcoming challenge: "I couldn't be happier! This mare carries a special place in my heart. Our objective has always been to aim for the big leagues in Düsseldorf–the Preis der Diana at the start of August. That's the reason I bought Lady Charlotte, and now, she's the top favorite for the classic race." Trained by Andreas Wöhler in Gütersloh, Lady Charlotte is set to take on bigger stages.

Lady Charlotte's victory in the Diana Trial has catapulted her into the limelight as a formidable contender for the G1 Preis der Diana (German Oaks), set for August 2025. This win marks her second consecutive stakes triumph, following a Listed race victory in Hanover last month.

With Düsseldorf races yet to be announced, Lady Charlotte is likely to focus on major races like the Preis der Diana, given her impressive form and recent success.

Bred by Rebecca Phillips from the Poet's Voice mare Middle Creek, Lady Charlotte is a part of a remarkable family, with several stakes winners to her credit. She is owned by Westminster Race Horses and boasts an impressive pedigree, being a half-sister to the 2-year-old filly Lady Evi (Masar).

The following is added in the Annex to this Decision: The formidable horse-racing performance of Lady Charlotte, most recently triumphing at the Diana Trial in Hoppegarten, positions her as a strong candidate for the upcoming G1 Preis der Diana (German Oaks) in Düsseldorf. With a string of successful races, including a Listed race victory in Hanover last month, Lady Charlotte is expected to target major races, such as the Preis der Diana, as her focus for the upcoming racing season.
