Honors Awards Nominees for 2024 Announced by HPA in Creative Fields
19th Annual HPA Awards to Honor Outstanding Achievements in Film and Television
The Hollywood Professional Association (HPA) is set to host its 19th annual awards ceremony on Nov. 7, recognizing exceptional contributions to entertainment content. This year, the awards will honour work in color grading, editing, sound, and visual effects across various media such as feature films, episodic TV shows, documentaries, and commercials.
In the category of Outstanding Achievement in Restoration, nominees include classic films like "The Day of the Locust" (1975), "Planet of the Apes" (1968), "The Searchers" (1956), "Snow White" (1937), and "The Sugarland Express" (1974).
Moving on to the Outstanding Sound-Theatrical Feature category, nominees include "Alien: Romulus," "Civil War," "The Creator," "Dune: Part Two," and "Música." Meanwhile, in the Outstanding Editing-Theatrical Feature category, contenders include "Dune: Part Two," "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," "The Holdovers," "Inside Out 2," and "Twisters."
For the Outstanding Color Grading-Animated Theatrical Feature, the nominees are "Inside Out 2" and "Ultraman: Rising." In the Live Action Theatrical Feature category, nominees include "Blink Twice," "The Creator," "Dune: Part Two," "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," and "Immaculate."
The Engineering Excellence Awards will honour Adobe for Enhance Speech in Premiere Pro, Disguise and Cuebric for AI-Driven 2.5D Workflow, and Evercast for Apple Vision Pro. The HPA will also honour postproduction facility FotoKem with the Charles S. Swartz Award.
In the Outstanding Sound-Episode or Non-Theatrical Feature category, nominees include "Alien: Romulus," "No One Will Save You," "True Detective - Night Country: Part 6," and "To Kill a Tiger." The Outstanding Color Grading-Live Action Episode or Non-Theatrical Feature, Outstanding Color Grading-Documentary, Outstanding Color Grading-Commercial, Outstanding Editing-Episode or Non-Theatrical Feature (30 Minutes and Under), Outstanding Editing-Episode or Non-Theatrical Feature (Over 30 Minutes), Outstanding Sound-Episode or Non-Theatrical Feature, Outstanding Sound-Documentary, Outstanding Visual Effects-Live Action Feature, Outstanding Visual Effects-Animated Feature, Outstanding Visual Effects-Live Action Episode or Series Season, Outstanding Visual Effects-Animated Episode or Series Season, and Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects-Episode or Series Season categories have not been listed in this paragraph.
