High-performance motorcycle Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP makes a comeback in India at a price of ₹28.99 lakh. What's the update?

Honda's high-performance motorcycle, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, is back in India at an estimated price of ₹28.99 lakh. Here's what sets it apart:

The 2025 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is set to make a grand entrance, boasting a host of updates that promise to elevate its performance and riding experience.

Manufactured by Honda itself, the new Fireblade SP features a revamped 999 cc inline-four engine. This engine has undergone significant changes, including a higher compression ratio, a lighter crankcase, revised valve timing, new internal and final gear ratios, and a new Akrapovic silencer. These modifications aim to improve the bike's power delivery and overall performance.

The 2025 Fireblade SP also offers a more comfortable and controlled riding position, thanks to raised handlebars and lowered footpegs. This adjustment is expected to enhance the rider's connection with the bike, particularly on the track.

In terms of power, the new Fireblade SP maintains the same figures as its outgoing version: 217.5 bhp at 14,000rpm and 113 Nm at 12,000rpm. However, it's worth noting that the BMW S 1000 R, a different bike, produces the same horsepower and torque.

The 2025 Fireblade SP's chassis has been heavily updated, featuring a revised aluminum frame that improves steering feel and grip on the track. Suspension components are provided by Öhlins, with 43 mm USD front forks and a rear monoshock, both electronically adjustable through the third-gen Öhlins Smart Electronic Control.

The bike's aerodynamic updates include new winglets on the front fairings for enhanced downforce and a rear aero step on the lower fairing for better rear wheel traction. The 2025 Fireblade SP also features a six-axis IMU, a 5-inch TFT dash, and an updated left-hand switchgear.

The bike's updated features are designed to optimize its performance, with the new two-motor throttle-by-wire system, 9-step traction control, wheelie control, Start Mode for race starts, and a 3-level quickshifter all accessible due to its six-axis IMU. Braking performance is enhanced by new Brembo Stylema R four-piston radial mount brake calipers that grip onto twin 330 mm discs at the front, while the rear wheel is equipped with a single 220 mm disc with hydraulic calipers.

The 2025 Fireblade SP's updates have been derived from Honda Racing Corporation's expertise in MotoGP, ensuring that it retains its position as a high-performance motorcycle.

While the BMW S 1000 R, another high-performance motorcycle, has been launched in India at ₹19.9 lakh, the release date and pricing for the 2025 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP are yet to be announced. However, with its impressive array of updates, the new Fireblade SP is undoubtedly set to make a strong impact in the world of superbikes.
