Honda unveils the CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX, with pricing beginning at ₹74,959.

Honda Motors, a renowned name in the automotive industry, has recently unveiled two new additions to their commuter bike lineup: the CB125 Hornet and the Shine 125 DX. These motorcycles cater to different segments of the market, each offering unique features tailored to the needs of diverse riders.

CB125 Hornet: A Sporty Commuter

The CB125 Hornet, Honda's latest entry in the 125cc commuter sport segment, boasts a sporty, aggressive design. With sharp tank shrouds, a muscular fuel tank, golden upside-down (USD) front forks, all-LED lighting, and colour-coordinated alloy wheels, the Hornet exudes a premium sporty look. Underneath its stylish exterior lies a 123.94cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine. This powerhouse delivers 10.99–11 hp at 7,500 rpm and 11.2 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm, ensuring quick acceleration, with a lightweight kerb weight of 124 kg.

The Hornet comes equipped with advanced features such as a 4.2-inch TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity (Honda RoadSync app), USB Type-C charging port, single-channel ABS, petal front disc brake, engine stop switch, tubeless tires, and gold-colored USD forks, making it a standout in its segment.

Shine 125 DX: Practicality Meets Performance

On the other hand, the Shine 125 DX focuses on practicality and reliability, retaining the familiar Shine silhouette but with updated body graphics, a sculpted fuel tank, and chrome touches on the headlamp and muffler. The bike boasts a 98.98cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 7.28 hp and 8.04 Nm torque, emphasizing fuel efficiency and commuter-friendly smoothness.

The Shine 125 DX features a digital LCD instrument cluster that displays real-time mileage, distance-to-empty, and service reminders. It also comes with a long seat for enhanced comfort for both the rider and pillion, and is equipped with drum brakes supported by Honda's Combined Braking System (CBS).

Pricing and Color Options

The CB125 Hornet is expected to be priced around ₹1.12 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while the exact pricing for the Shine 125 DX is yet to be announced. However, considering the smaller engine and simpler features of the Shine 125 DX, it is expected to be priced lower.

The CB125 Hornet will be available in four dual-tone colour schemes: Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red. The Shine 125 DX will be offered in four bold colors: Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Geny Grey Metallic.

In summary, the CB125 Hornet targets younger buyers looking for sporty styling, modern tech, and spirited performance, while the Shine 125 DX focuses on reliable, practical commuting with improved features and efficiency at a lower price point. Both motorcycles are set to revolutionise the commuter bike segment in India.

Despite Honda Motors primarily being recognized in the automotive industry, their latest offerings, the CB125 Hornet and the Shine 125 DX, delve into the realm of sports, with the CB125 Hornet catering to those seeking a sporty, aggressive design and quick acceleration.

Conversely, the Shine 125 DX focuses on practicality, offering a commuter-friendly smoothness and fuel efficiency, while maintaining a familiar silhouette.
