Honda Civic Tops 2024's Most Reliable Cars for Long-Term Value

A new study has ranked the 25 most reliable cars for value, measuring cost against predicted lifespan. The Honda Civic took the top spot as the longest-lasting model with the lowest annual price. Other well-known brands also featured prominently in the list.

The Honda Civic leads the ranking with a purchase price of $27,768 and an expected lifespan of 13.5 years. This gives it the lowest annual cost at $2,058. The Toyota Corolla follows in second place, priced at $25,423 and lasting an estimated 11.3 years, resulting in a yearly cost of $2,258.

The Mazda Mazda3 hatchback comes third, costing $31,801 but offering the longest lifespan on the list—13.8 years. Its annual price works out to $2,300. Across the full ranking, the average car costs $46,699 and lasts 11 years, translating to $4,251 per year.

Honda, Nissan, and Toyota each placed four models in the top 25. Ford, Mazda, and MINI had two entries apiece. The Lexus IS was the only luxury vehicle to appear, ranking 15th. Meanwhile, Jeep became the first U.S. brand on the list at number 16.

Three hybrids also made the cut: the Toyota Prius, Toyota Camry, and Honda Civic.
