Bavarian Crackdown on Child Pornography and Sexual Abuse Networks

- Homes raided in search of child pornography material

In an unprecedented operation targeting child and youth pornography, along with the sexual exploitation of minors, over 70 police officers from various districts in Upper Bavaria, Germany, have been conducting searches.

The operation, launched against 32 individuals spanning ages 14 to 74, aimed to seize evidence of child pornography possession and distribution. One significant part of this operation involved the takedown of a notorious platform, KidFlix, a dark web hub for child sexual exploitation with over 91,000 videos and approximately 6,288 hours of content [1][2][4].

The investigations led to the search of 17 residences in Erding, Freising, Ebersberg, and later, 15 locations in Mühldorf am Inn and Altötting. During these operations, numerous pieces of evidence were secured from over a dozen suspects, all men aged between adolescents and late sixties, suspected of possessing and distributing child pornographic content[1].

Europol reported a major success against this child abuse network, with over 38 countries participating in Operation Stream to combat the issue. The platform was taken down under the leadership of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, and 79 individuals were arrested worldwide[1][3].

Notable cases include a 36-year-old German man who was arrested for offering his young son for abuse, a serial abuser identified in the United States, and multiple arrests and charges in Canada [2][4].

Although the operation was a significant success, the investigation remains ongoing, with authorities working tirelessly to evaluate secured data and identify the operator of KidFlix in an effort to bring more offenders to justice[1].
