Sleeping in the Big Apple's Backyard: Shia LaBeouf's Central Park Stint

Wanna know about a wild tale straight from Gotham? Shia LaBeouf (38), the dude who used to grab headlines with his unpredictable antics, once took up temporary residence in New York's Central Park. He shared this unconventional living arrangement while chatting with "The Hollywood Reporter".

"Right near the horses, by that fire pit. There's plenty of room to kick back, but you gotta move every few hours because the crew's on patrol," LaBeouf remembered. During his time in the park, LaBeouf was battling some demons, including packing on some hardcore, muscle-boosting steroids.

The Making of a Misfit: 'Orphans' and Beyond

While LaBeouf didn't pinpoint the exact timeline, he mentioned this park life was during prep for the Broadway play "Orphans". In February 2013, reports hit the news that LaBeouf had bailed on the project, citing "creative differences". But the trouble with "Orphans" started brewing when Alec Baldwin (67) took over for Al Pacino (85) just before the curtain went up.

LaBeouf admitted that his game plan was centered around Pacino, but things didn't click with Baldwin. But hey, no hard feelings, as LaBeouf now digs the guy: "He's awesome. He's just like me," LaBeouf said of Baldwin.

Soul-Searching and Apologies

LaBeouf fessed up to his past as a tough cookie to work with. "I figured it was 'cause I had no soul, no spirituality," he spilled. To his credit, LaBeouf has made some changes, converting to Catholicism and even living in a monastery for a spell. No guard dog can compete with this caretaker crew!

Remember when LaBeouf was caught up in messy drama with his ex, musician FKA Twigs (37), and his substance abuse troubles? Seems like he's doing his best to leave those behind and move forward. His latest flick, "Henry Johnson," directed by David Mamet (77), is slated to hit theaters on May 9, 2025. In this one, he plays a prison inmate.
