Home Victory for Surge: Remains Unbeaten Against Hamburg with a Score of 48-0

The Stuttgart Surge secured a decisive victory in their final home game of the regular season, defeating the Hamburg Sea Devils 48-0 on August 16, 2025. The win, which took place in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, marked the Surge's eighth consecutive victory and strengthened their position in the West Division.

The game started with a bang as Mike Harley Jr. scored the first touchdown for the Surge in the first quarter. The momentum continued to build as Louis Geyer scored a touchdown just before halftime, extending the lead to 21-0.

In the second half, defensive lineman Raphael Zistler ran ten yards into the end zone for a touchdown, followed by Tomiwa Oyewo's touchdown in the second quarter, which increased the lead to 28-0. Lasse Engel intercepted a pass and fullback León Helm turned it into a touchdown, making the score 34-0. Engel completed another interception and scored a pick six, resulting in the final score of 48-0.

The Surge's defense was outstanding, holding Hamburg scoreless throughout the game and consistently stopping them at the line of scrimmage. Reilly Hennessey suffered an injury during the game, and Lars Heidrich stepped up to lead the team to victory. Heidrich threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating his leadership.

With this win, the Surge improved their regular season record to around 10-2, securing the West Division title and positioning themselves for a favorable playoff seed, potentially Seed #3 if certain conditions are met involving other teams' results. The Surge will have two away games against the winless teams from Cologne and Fehérvár after the league's bye week, before playing their season finale against two more winless teams.

The playoffs will start on August 23, and the Surge will be eager to build on their strong regular season performance and continue their winning streak. The team's dominant performance throughout the season, with an 82% win rate and high average scoring, bodes well for their playoff prospects.

The Stuttgart Surge's impressive performance in European-leagues continued as they stretched their winning streak to eight games, securing a decisive 48-0 victory over the Hamburg Sea Devils. This victory in the Premier-league would likely secure them a Seed #3 spot for the playoffs, due to their favorable regular season record of around 10-2.
