Homburg's youth council commences a fresh term, with Deputy Scheidweiler amplifying the commendable dedication demonstrated by its members.

In the heart of Homburg, Germany, the second term of the city's Youth Council kicked off with a momentous inaugural meeting. The event was marked by the warm welcome of Deputy Mayor Philipp Scheidweiler, who expressed his delight at being responsible for youth affairs.

The Youth Council, an integral part of the Homburg administration, was initiated by Mayor Michael Forster. This term will see the council discussing and making decisions regarding municipal politics, representing itself to Mayor Forster and other bodies.

At the forefront of this new term is 16-year-old Mathilda Hackländer, who was elected as chairwoman in a secret ballot, securing 7 out of 12 votes. Mathilda, along with her fellow council members, introduced themselves to each other and to city administration representatives, including Sandra Schatzmann and Tanja Trenkler from the youth department, and Commissioner Thomas Höchst, who is responsible for schools and inclusion.

Deputy Mayor Scheidweiler praised the members of the Homburg Youth Council for their interest in municipal politics and urged them to voice their opinions. He acknowledged the high level of commitment of the council members, expressing his delight at their active participation.

The current Youth Council members, a diverse group of young individuals, include Akua Addai, Erza Bala, Nils Bernhard, Anton Brixius, Jessica Chu, Mathilda Hackländer, Julia Klatt, Sofia Knerr, Jakob Kruthoff, Muzaffer Kürtün, Fatima Lubrich, Colleen Emilia Metz, Vinusha Paramakuru, Aileen Scheid, Anastasia Schön, Angela Steinmüller, Vivienne Stickel, Alexander Veith, Robert Wöbbeking, and Ellen Ziehl.

The council is expected to elect a vice-chairperson and two additional members in the coming days. As the new term begins, the Homburg Youth Council remains a firm part of the administration, working towards the betterment of the city's youth and their future.
