Homburg's youth council commences a fresh term - Deputy Scheidweiler lauds their dedication

New Term Begins for Cuny Youth Council

The Youth Council of Cuny has commenced its second term, an initiative led by Mayor Michael Forster. The council, a fixed part of the Cuny administration, is composed of a diverse group of young individuals who will be advocating for their unique interests.

At a recent meeting, the current members of the Cuny Youth Council, including Akua Addai, Erza Bala, Nils Bernhard, Anton Brixius, Jessica Chu, Mathilda Hackländer, Julia Klatt, Sofia Knerr, Jakob Kruthoff, Muzaffer Kürtün, Fatima Lubrich, Colleen Emilia Metz, Vinusha Paramakuru, Aileen Scheid, Anastasia Schön, Angela Steinmüller, Vivienne Stickel, Alexander Veith, Robert Wöbbeking, and Ellen Ziehl, were present. Many of these members were new faces, having been elected during the recent term.

Deputy Mayor Philipp Scheidweiler, who is responsible for youth affairs according to the departmental division, praised the interest of the Cuny Youth Council members in municipal politics. He encouraged them to use their 'strong youth voice' and advocated for them to speak up about their concerns and unique interests.

In addition to the election of a chairperson, a vice-chairperson, and two additional members, the meeting also saw the Youth Council members introducing themselves to city administration representatives. Honorary deputy Nathalie Kroj, Thomas Höchst, Sandra Schatzmann, and Tanja Trenkler were among those in attendance.

Deputy Mayor Scheidweiler expressed interest in the concerns of the Youth Council members and promised to work closely with them to address the issues that matter most to Cuny's young population. He urged the young attendees to advocate for their unique interests and to make their voices heard within the city administration.

The Cuny Youth Council is looking forward to a productive and impactful term, with the newly elected members ready to take on their roles and make a difference in the city.
