FC 08 Homburg Secures Talented Youngster Armend Qenaj for Upcoming Season
Armend Qenaj, a promising young footballer, has joined FC 08 Homburg as their first new signing for the upcoming season. The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a contract that will keep him with the club until June 2027.
Qenaj's footballing journey began in Koblenz, where he was initially trained in the youth ranks of TuS Koblenz. After a successful stint with the U19 team, he returned to the club in 2020. However, it was not long before he was promoted to the first team in the summer of 2021.
In the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar, Qenaj played a total of 62 games for TuS Koblenz. He also made a significant impact in the Regionalliga games, with a career total of over 50 appearances.
Qenaj moved to SGV Freiberg in the summer of 2024 and has since proven to be a valuable asset to the team. In the current season, he has played 26 games, scoring three goals and assisting in two.
Head coach Roland Seitz, who will also lead FC 08 Homburg in the upcoming season, described Qenaj as a "good kid" with a bright future ahead. Qenaj himself is excited about the move, stating that he will give everything to achieve the club's goals and continue to develop with FC 08 Homburg.
Qenaj's career has already seen some notable milestones. In the U17 Bundesliga, he played 17 games and scored three goals. He also represented the Kosovo U16 national team, making one appearance in September 2018. After the team's promotion to the Regionalliga Südwest, Qenaj remained a regular starter, playing 31 games.
As a developmental player, Qenaj is still in the early stages of his career, but his potential is undeniable. FC 08 Homburg fans can look forward to many beautiful moments with this talented youngster.
