Protesters in Hollywood Rally Against President Trump - Hollywood stages demonstrations in opposition to President Trump's policies.

As a grand military spectacle unfolded in our nation's capital on June 14, 2025 – coincidentally the same day as President Donald Trump's birthday – masses of people took to the streets across the country. Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco were among the cities where they gathered, protesting under the slogan "No Kings". In opposition to Trump's perceived autocratic rule, they were making a clear declaration: The USA does not need kings.

Loud Voices from the Stars

Notable celebrities joined the peaceful protesters, using their platforms to speak out against Trump's authoritarian political style. Mark Ruffalo (57) addressed a rally in New York, expressing his concerns to MSNBC: "Our democracy is in peril", he stated. "We witness a president who, through executive actions, tramples our rights and the Constitution daily. We are heartbroken, scared, and we know that the only way to stop this is if the population unites as one. This administration's tactics are a direct threat to democracy itself."

Jimmy Kimmel (57) participated in a protest in South Bay, California, alongside his parents, remarking on Instagram: "A courageous, inspiring, and, yes, peaceful crowd. I met many who love this country and believe in its power for good. I'm grateful that so many Americans are taking a stand for their fellow citizens – especially my parents."

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (64) showcased a sign reading: "The only monarch I admire is a butterfly", while actress Natasha Rothwell (44) displayed a poster with the message: "You are trash". Both celebrities used the #nokings hashtag to make their stance clear.

Moby (59) uploaded a video on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of democracy and active resistance. "We must do everything to protect democracy: protest, donate, post, run for office, vote, organize", he encouraged.

Solidarity Among Stars

Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo (22) shared a homemade sign depicting a crossed-out crown and the words: "In our USA". News emerged that singer Gracie Abrams (25) also participated, posting photographs of herself alongside protesters, holding a poster with the quote from Desmond Tutu: "Whoever is neutral in unjust situations chooses the side of the oppressor."

Kerry Washington (48) posted numerous photos and selfies, commenting: "#NoKings, just a few QUEENS I met while protesting and fighting for democracy." "The Bear" star Ayo Edebiri (29) exhibited solidarity on her Instagram story, uploading an image of a sign that read: "I love you and I stand with you! Stay brave!" "Jane the Virgin" actress Gina Rodriguez (40) demonstrated in the small town of Woodstock, commenting on a story: "Even in Woodstock, the smallest town, stays loud! #NoKingsDay."
