Holiday performance titled "The Singing Christmas Tree" taking place from the 5th to the 14th of December
The festive season in Waldkirch, Germany, is set to be extra special this year as the Singing Christmas Tree makes its grand return. From December 5 to 14, 2025, the town will transform into a winter wonderland, with the 10-meter-high Singing Christmas Tree at the heart of it all.
This unique spectacle, now in its fifth year, is inspired by the famous Zurich "Singing Christmas Tree" and has become a celebrated event in Germany. The tree will feature over ten choirs from the region and beyond, performing a mix of classic Christmas songs, Gospels, and pop music on five levels daily.
The musical performances will take place multiple times each day, with two shows on weekdays and up to four on weekends. The location for this magical event is the Museumsplatz in Waldkirch, creating a baroque ambiance as the Christmas market surrounds the tree.
Visitors to the market can enjoy local charm and handmade products, adding to the festive atmosphere. Admission to the Singing Christmas Tree event is free, making it accessible to all.
Waldkirch is easily accessible by train from Freiburg via the S2 line, ensuring a hassle-free journey for those travelling from afar. The event is organized by Stadtfest Waldkirch e.V., with Gerlinde Kretschmann, wife of the Minister-President, serving as the patron.
