Hofsgrund's Late-Season Snowfall Revives Ski Slopes for Final Weekend
Fresh snow has transformed Hofsgrund into a winter wonderland just in time for what could be the season's final weekend. A heavy snowfall on March 26 blanketed the area with 20 to 30 centimetres of powder, prompting ski operators to reopen lifts and extend hours for eager visitors. The unexpected snowfall arrived late in the season, allowing the Rotlache ski lift to resume operations. Almost every lift will run over the weekend, with only the children's lift remaining closed.
Lifts will operate from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29. For those wanting to ski under the stars, night sessions will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM at the Rosshang and Poche lifts. Weather forecasts promise sunny spells and crisp, frosty conditions in the days ahead. Authorities have hinted that this could mark the end of the ski season, urging visitors to make the most of the fresh snow while it lasts.
The sudden snow revival has given skiers and snowboarders a last chance to hit the slopes. With extended opening times and near-full lift access, Hofsgrund is set for a busy weekend before the season draws to a close.
