Sandro Wagner Turns Down Hoffenheim Offer, Sparks Interest from Bundesliga Clubs

Efficient Resolution: - "Hoffenheim dismissal is off, according to Wagner"

Looks like Sandro Wagner, currently assistant coach of the German national football team, has reportedly turned down an offer from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. According to the German Press Agency (dpa), Wagner was preferred as a candidate for the Bundesliga club, should coach Christian Ilzer part ways with them. Sky was the first to report the news of Wagner's rejection, mentioning "concrete negotiations".

With TSG not offering Wagner a position and Wagner opting not to return to the Kraichgau, it seems Lukas Kwasniok from SC Paderborn could be a possible successor to Ilzer. TSG clarified that they've not made any offers to potential coaching candidates, confirming their support for Ilzer.

Ilzer, unsurprisingly, finds the speculation amusing:

With Ilzer's future in doubt, Wagner could be in high demand. Several Bundesliga clubs are said to be interested, though none have been named yet. This season's speculation about Ilzer's departure stems from his arrival at TSG only in November 2021.

Need a plot twist? Rumor has it that Bayer Leverkusen could be one of the clubs interested, should Xabi Alonso depart. Plus, other top-tier teams like RB Leipzig are in the market for a new coach too.

Rumors also swirl about Wagner joining VfL Wolfsburg, following the departure of their coach Ralph Hasenhüttl. However, an engagement with Wolfsburg appears unlikely.
