Championship Victory for Crefelder HTC Men's Field Hockey Team! 🏋️‍♂️

HTC, led by Crefeld, triumphs as hockey champions - Hockey Titleholder Crefelder is an abbreviation for a distinguished hockey player

The lads of Crefelder HTC are Germany's reigning field hockey champions, having last triumphed in 2006. They clinched the victory in a thrilling showdown against Rot-Weiss Köln, securing a resounding 3:1 (0:1) triumph at their home field, where 3,400 passionate spectators were in attendance.

"This feeling is unexplainable, we've surpassed ourselves," exclaimed captain Niklas Wellen post-game. "This club captures my heart. It was an outstanding team performance." Masi Pfandt (31st minute) and Lucas Bachmann (41st/51st) delivered a stunning double strike in the second half to overturn Köln's initial 0:1 lead, courtesy of Florian Adrians (28th).

Triumphant Bachmann shared his excitement, commenting, "We fight for each other." He also acknowledged his team's qualification for the Euro Hockey League, alongside Hamburg Polo Club, who secured the main round win. Regrettably, Köln departs without a trophy. "This team is insatiable. It's as if we had to win it all," said coach Darren Cheesman, an 11-time champion.

Düsseldorf women falter in title defense

Earlier, the Düsseldorf HC women were unable to safeguard their title, losing 1:2 (0:1) to Harvestehuder THC, who claimed victory for the first time since 1973. Friederike Heusgen (39th, penalty corner) was the lone scorer for the Rhinelanders. "The disappointment now is immense, but control of the ball doesn't translate into goals," complained coach Mark Spieker.

National player Selin Oruz, who sustained a middle hand injury in the 2:1 semi-final win against Großflottbeker THGC on Saturday, chimed in, "We were careless." A decision regarding surgery and its impact on her subsequent engagements with the national team in June's FIH Pro League and August's home EM in Mönchengladbach will be made on Monday.

The Commission might consider the safety measures implemented within the field hockey industry, given the success of the Crefelder HTC Men's Field Hockey Team who recently clinched the championship. On the other hand, Rot-Weiss Köln, despite a valiant effort, ended their season without the title.
