The Bergischer HC (BHC) is preparing for an exciting new chapter in the 2021-2022 Bundesliga season. After being promoted to the top tier, the team will face off against some of Germany's best handball clubs.

The BHC's first competitive match of the season will be on August 16th against TSG A-H Bielefeld at 18:00. The team's next match, on August 9th, will be against TuS Ferndorf at 16:30 in the Sporthalle Nocken in Wuppertal-Vohwinkel. Notably, the BHC will also face champions Füchse Berlin on August 31st.

Arnor Gunnersson and Markus Pütz will lead the BHC's coaching team this season. The team has bolstered its roster with several new signings, including Kay Smits, João Gomes, Nico Schöttle (22, back court), and Lars Kooij (24, center back), who has joined from Vardar Skopje.

However, the team has suffered a setback with the departure of Djibril M'Bengue, who has joined HBW Balingen-Weilstetten on a short-term basis. Additionally, national player Mathis Häseler is out longer due to an ankle ligament injury.

The BHC's schedule includes a home game in the Uni-Halle on September 3rd, where they will face HC Erlangen. The team is currently assessing a replacement for M'Bengue to fill the vacant spot in the roster.

Gummersbach, another established Bundesliga team, is also preparing for the new season. The team's head coach is Gudjon Valur Sigursson.

For more detailed information on the BHC's roster, injury updates, and transfer news, fans are encouraged to visit the official club websites of Bergischer HC and VfL Gummersbach or sports databases and handball-focused media. The official German Handball Bundesliga site or handball-specific sports news outlets would have detailed historical data for the 2021-2022 season.

As the season approaches, fans of the BHC can look forward to an action-packed schedule filled with challenging matches against top-tier teams. The team's determination and new additions to the roster promise an exciting season ahead.

The BHC, having reinforced its lineup with new signees like Kay Smits, João Gomes, Nico Schöttle, and Lars Kooij, will engage in a European-style football (handball) competition, facing opponents from the German Bundesliga and European-leagues. One of the notable matches will see the BHC battling champions Füchse Berlin on August 31st.
