Hocenko states that the Omsk region ranks high in terms of the number of fellow citizens residing there
The Omsk region in Russia has welcomed over 750 new residents this year, making it a leading region in terms of the number of repatriates. This was announced by Governor Vitaliy Khotchenko.
The Ministry of Labor provides a range of social support measures for these newcomers. Repatriates working in healthcare, education, agriculture, and social services can expect a one-time payment of 70,000 rubles from the Ministry. Additionally, each repatriate receives a one-time resettlement allowance of 15,000 rubles, with an extra 7,500 rubles for each family member.
Families with children can have their housing or hotel accommodation costs compensated, up to 70,000 rubles. Moreover, up to 12,000 rubles can be compensated for the translation and notarization of documents for repatriates.
This year, the Center for Family and Children Support is available for repatriates, and living expenses are compensated for those staying at this centre. Repatriates also have the opportunity to start their own business and receive a social payment of up to 300,000 rubles.
These social support measures aim to facilitate the integration of repatriates into the Omsk region. Over the past 15 years, more than 50,000 people from 20 countries have moved to the Omsk region, highlighting the region's commitment to offering a welcoming environment for those returning home.
While specific details about the Omsk region's repatriation program can be found in regional government sources or the Ministry of Migration Affairs for Russia, general repatriation programs in Russian regions often include assistance with housing or accommodation, help with registration and documentation, access to medical care and social security benefits, employment assistance, psychological support, and financial support for families or individuals in need.
The social support measures outlined by the Ministry of Labor and the Center for Family and Children Support are part of the Omsk region's policy-and-legislation for repatriates. These measures, including financial assistance, housing aid, and business support, aim to facilitate the integration of repatriates into the politics and general-news of the region.
