Historic Rukavishnikov Mansion in Nizhny Novgorod Heads to Auction
A historic wooden mansion in Nizhny Novgorod will soon go under the hammer. The 'House of V.M. Rukavishnikov', located at 21 Bolshaya Pecherskaya Street, is being sold via an open electronic auction. Bidding starts at 69,090,000 rubles, with no restrictions on who can take part or how bids are placed. Built in the second half of the 19th century, the mansion is part of an eclectic architectural ensemble. Its original owner was industrialist Vladimir Rukavishnikov, though it later passed to the Solin merchant family. The single-story structure features wooden plank cladding, attic spaces, two mezzanines, and a stone basement.
The property remains state-owned by Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and holds cultural heritage status. Potential buyers must commit to its designated use: art schools, music schools, educational clubs, or similar cultural institutions. The auction rules allow any participant to bid, with no limits on format or composition.
The sale ensures the mansion stays dedicated to education and cultural activities. Its next owner will take on a protected heritage site with strict usage requirements. The auction process remains open to all interested parties, with bidding set to begin at 69,090,000 rubles.
