Historic milestone reached by Don Omar at FENAPO 2025; "Today is the best day of my life," he expresses joyfully
In the heart of Mexico, the Feria Nacional Potosina (FENAPO) 2025 played host to a diverse artistic lineup that attracted thousands of visitors from Mexico and beyond. However, the event was not without controversy. A call for prayer and fasting was made against Marilyn Manson's performance, organized by religious and conservative groups who deemed the concert inappropriate for a family-friendly event.
The concerns centered around violent imagery, explicit lyrics, and the moral impact on children and teenagers. Parents, led by the Unión Nacional de Padres de Familia (UNPF), protested at the state government palace and fairgrounds, holding placards denouncing Manson’s offensive language and anti-social themes, and urging respect for family values and community standards.
The Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí distanced itself from these protests, with the Archbishop not authorizing or organizing any mobilization against the concert. Despite the religious groups' disapproval and symbolic acts like leaving a cow’s head at the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Archbishop did not take an official oppositional stance to the concert.
Amidst this cultural tension, Marilyn Manson took the stage, performing to a large, enthusiastic crowd.
Meanwhile, on the same night, Don Omar set a new record for concert attendance in his career. Hundreds of attendees gathered at the fairgrounds early in the day to secure a spot for the reggaeton icon's show. The energy and enthusiasm were palpable, making it a memorable event in the history of Fenapo 2025.
For the first time in his 25-year career, 358,000 people sang along to Don Omar's songs. The audience sang along to each song and didn't stop dancing for a single minute. William Omar Ladron Rivera, the artist's real name, was visibly emotional during his performance.
Don Omar's performance at Fenapo 2025 reinforced the fair's status as one of the most important in the country. The concert was marked by screams, fainting spells, ovations, and an ecstatic atmosphere among the audience. The concert turned into a phenomenon with the audience's high anticipation and euphoria.
Don Omar, a globally recognised urban genre exponent, performed hits like "Dale Don Dale", "Pobre Diabla", "Ella y Yo", "Virtual Diva" and "Taboo" during the concert. His performance at Fenapo 2025 set a new standard for concert attendance in his career.
The Archbishop of San Luis Potosi has distanced himself from the call for prayer and fasting against Marilyn Manson's performance. Meanwhile, Don Omar confessed his affection for the crowd at Fenapo 2025, making it a night to remember for both artists and attendees alike.
