Historic Manhunt Concludes: 4 Victims, 1 Suspect Arrested After 43 Hours in Minnesota

When the SWAT team arrived, they deployed a drone into the Hortman home, which revealed an alarming sight - Melissa Hortman, the top Democrat in the Minnesota House of Representatives and mother of two, was dead.
The manhunt for the perpetrator lasted a grueling 43 hours, culminating in his arrest in the Sibley County woods. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that he had also intended to target two other state lawmakers.
It is believed that the same intruder, armed with a sham police vehicle and badge, a tactical vest, and a stun gun, had come to the Hoffman residence around 2 a.m. that night. Investigators also discovered various hit lists containing numerous names, primarily Democrats or figures tied to the abortion rights movement. Three AK-47 assault-style rifles and a 9mm handgun were also discovered.
According to a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation, police uncovered another possible hit list with over a dozen potential targets following a Saturday search of a suspect's residence. Authorities were working tirelessly to analyze a motive behind the attacks.
In the hours that followed, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stepped forward to address the public, stating emphatically that the attacks were acts of "targeted political violence" and urging the nation to reject such violence.
