Icon Arts Transylvania 2025: A Jazz Spectacle in Brasov

Get ready for an exciting jazz extravaganza as the Icon Arts Transylvania 2025 festival takes centre stage in Brasov, Romania, from late July to early August. The event will feature the Jazz Residence and Jazz Bastion, promising a week-long celebration of music from Switzerland, Ireland, and Romania.

Jazz Residence in Râșnov (August 3-10, 2025)

The jazz residency is a creative hub for young artists, under the guidance of Swiss vocal artist and composer Sarah Buechi, Romanian vocalist Ana Cristina Leonte, and guitarist Ciprian Pop. This unique opportunity, supported by the Swiss Sponsors’ Fund, will culminate in concerts held in Brașov, Codlea, and Sibiu.

Jazz Concerts in Brașov

The city of Brașov will resonate with the rhythm of jazz as several concerts are scheduled. On August 7, the Weavers' Bastion in Brasov (for Jazz Bastion) will host a performance featuring the participants of the Icon Arts Transylvania - Jazz Residence. This concert will showcase the students' creativity from their week-long residency in Râșnov. It's important to note that this is not the only performance of the students during the residency.

Another concert will take place on August 9 at the Evangelical Church in Codlea, as part of the ICon Arts Transilvania Festival. Featured musicians for this event include Ana Cristina Leonte, Alex Arcuș, Ciprian Pop, Ipso Facto, and THQuintet.

The grand finale of the jazz concerts in Brașov will take place on August 10, 2025, at 18:00, also at the Evangelical Church in Codlea. This concert will feature Ana Cristina Leonte, Alex Arcuș, Ciprian Pop, Ipso Facto, and THQuintet, along with other artists such as Sarah Buechi and Connection Ensemble, a group from Switzerland.

The Icon Arts Jazz Group, a collaboration between Irish and Romanian musicians, and the Ana Cristina Leonte Quartet, a Romanian group, will also perform at Jazz Bastion. The concerts are likely to display a mix of jazz music from Switzerland, Ireland, and Romania.

Sibiu State Philharmonic and the Evangelical Church in Codlea

In addition to the performances in Brasov, the students can also be seen on August 8 at the Sibiu State Philharmonic as part of the Rooftop Concerts. The concerts will showcase the students' creativity from their week-long residency in Râșnov.
