The Savannah Bananas, a team known for their unique and entertaining approach to baseball, are set to make their debut at Yankee Stadium from September 13-14 as part of their 2025 World Tour. This exciting event marks the final month of the Bananas' global journey, and they will be facing off against The Firefighters, who are in their second season of Banana Ball.
In Banana Ball, the team with the most points at the end of nine innings or when time expires is declared the winner. Each inning counts towards the score, with the leading team at the end of each inning being awarded a point. This fast-paced game features a variety of unique rules, such as no stepping out of the batter's box, no bunting, walks turning into sprint outs, and foul balls caught by fans counting as outs.
Reese Alexiades, the Bananas' outfielder, leads the team in homers (12) and RBIs (42), while D.R. "Doc" Meadows, the centerfielder, leads in hits with 68.
