Hildegard Bachmann Wins Golden Schärjer Award for Lifelong Mainz Carnival Dedication
The Golden Schärjer Award, presented by the Verband der Schärjer e.V., will take place on Friday, November 28. This year's recipient is Hildegard Bachmann, a long-time enthusiast of the Mainz carnival, known for her wit, charm, and attitude. The festive evening begins at 6:11 PM with a champagne reception, followed by the ceremony at 7:11 PM. Tickets can be purchased for €9.99.
Bachmann's impact on the carnival has been significant, as highlighted by Mayor Jan Einig. She has been involved in carnival traditions for over six decades, starting at the age of 13. Her performances with the Mainz Carnival Club and in the cult show 'Mainz stays Mainz' from 1997 to 2013 have left a lasting impression. Currently, she enchants audiences with the Mombacher 'Bohnenbeitel'.
The evening promises a variety of performances. Local dance groups, Michael Bleidt and Michael Kahn, the BB Kapell, and the band Schäl Sacken will all take the stage. Alice Hoffmann, last year's prize winner, will give the laudation and perform at the event.
