Highly Valuable Pokémon Trading Card to Be Auctioned Online, Anticipated Selling Price Ranges from €150,000 to €300,000 from October 15th to 22nd, 2024

In the world of Pokémon, a legendary card is set to make history. The Pikachu Illustrator card, a symbol of the franchise's early artistic community and history, will be auctioned for the first time ever in France and Europe by the renowned auction house, Aguttes.

This coveted card, designed by Atsuko Nishida, the original designer of Pikachu and other Pokémon characters, is estimated to be one of approximately 41 copies in existence. Known as the rarest and most expensive Pokémon card ever sold, it holds a profound historical significance.

Originally created as a prize for winners of the 1997-1998 Pokémon illustration contests organized by the Japanese manga magazine CoroCoro Comic, this card stands out from other Trainer cards due to its unique "Illustrator" inscription. The Japanese inscription on the card certifies the bearer as an officially authorized Pokémon card illustrator, highlighting its exclusive origin and value.

The record for the most expensive Pokémon card ever purchased was set in 2021 when influencer Logan Paul acquired a PSA 10-graded version of the same card for $5,275,000.

The public viewing for this historic auction will take place from Tuesday, October 15 to Thursday, October 17, at Aguttes Neuilly, located at 164 bis, avenue Charles-de-Gaulle, 92200 Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Aguttes, a prestigious auction house with offices in Paris, Lyon, Clermont-Ferrand, Aix-en-Provence, Brussels, and Geneva, has a team of 60 people and 15 internalized departments of experts. For more press information, contact Julian Roup of Bendigo Communications at [email protected].

For those interested in bidding, the online sale will commence on October 15 and close on October 22, 2024, starting at 4 PM. The viewing will be held from 10 AM - 1 PM and 2 PM - 6 PM each day.

The Pikachu Illustrator card is not just a collectible but a trophy and a must-have for the biggest Pokémon enthusiasts. This auction promises to be an exciting event for the Pokémon community, offering a unique opportunity to own a piece of the franchise's history.
