This week, the city of Neuss announced its intention to provide a total of 100,000 € in support to first and second division teams of Neuss sports clubs in 2020. The grant amounts are determined by league affiliation, statements on expenses and income of the last two seasons, and budget plans for the upcoming season.

Among the sports clubs recommended for grants are TSG Quirinus, which is seeking a grant of 2,000 € for their 2nd Bundesliga Latin Formation Dance team. TC Blau-Weiss Neuss (1st Bundesliga Tennis) is another recipient, with a grant of 15,000 € in the offing. Neusser Schwimmverein, the city's swimming club, has been recommended for a grant of 3,000 € for their 2nd Bundesliga Swimming teams (both men and women).

Other sports clubs recommended for grants include TG Neuss (2nd Bundesliga North Basketball Women), KSK Konkordia Neuss (1st Bundesliga Wrestling), and HTC Schwarz-Weiss Neuss (1st Bundesliga West Indoor Hockey and 2nd Bundesliga North Field Hockey). Each of these clubs will receive grants ranging from 15,000 € to 25,000 €.

It's worth noting that the Golfclub Hummelbachaue had initially applied for a grant, but withdrew its application due to the cancellation of the 2nd Bundesliga Ladies Golf in 2020 due to the Corona pandemic.

The sports committee meeting to discuss the resolution proposal is scheduled for Wednesday, 10.06.20. For more details about the newsletter, including its privacy policy, visit the city's official website.
