High Tatras Crowned 'Best Hidden Gem in Europe' for 2025

The High Tatras, a mountain range straddling Poland and Slovakia, has been crowned 'Best Hidden Gem in Europe' for 2025 by European Best Destinations. The title was decided by nearly 150,000 voters in an online poll.

The Tatras are renowned for their stunning landscapes, including over 100 alpine lakes. Morskie Oko, the largest and deepest lake in the range, is often ranked among the world's most beautiful. The Wall Street Journal agrees, highlighting its serene beauty.

Springtime in the Kościeliska Valley is particularly enchanting. As crocuses bloom, the valley transforms into a vibrant purple sea, attracting nature lovers and photographers alike.

Tatranská Lomnica, a popular ski resort, offers modern facilities and the longest, steepest downhill slope in Slovakia. Meanwhile, Rysy, Poland's highest peak at 2,501 meters, provides a challenging hike with breathtaking views.

The High Tatras, with its stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and affordable ski passes in the village of Ždiar, continues to impress. Its recent award as 'Best Hidden Gem in Europe' at the Travelbook Awards 2025 is a testament to its growing popularity as a paradise for winter sports and hiking enthusiasts.
