High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash: Driver Arrested, €38,000 in Damage
A high-speed chase on the A81 near Würzburg ended with a stolen Ford Max crashing into police vehicles and causing significant damage. Two officers and a policewoman were slightly injured, while three passengers in the Ford escaped with minor injuries.
The incident began when police attempted to stop the Ford Max, which had previously evaded pursuit in the Pforzheim area. The driver, a 21-year-old male, refused to pull over and instead tried to outrun the officers. He attempted to pass a patrol car on the right via the grass strip, ultimately colliding with another patrol car that was blocking the road ahead. The crash caused damage to several road signs and guardrails, with the total material damage estimated at €38,000.
The driver and his 20-year-old passenger in the Ford remained unharmed, but a 16-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. Two police officers and a policewoman were also slightly injured in the incident. The driver was later arrested and will be brought before the examining magistrate today. It has been revealed that the driver did not have a valid driver's license and was under the influence of intoxicating substances at the time of the chase.
The stolen Ford Max was finally stopped after causing significant damage and injuries. The driver, who was not licensed to drive and was impaired, will face the consequences of his actions. Police continue to investigate the incident.
