High School Golf Scores in Sheridan/Johnson County: Spanning September 11-13, 2025
The Wyoming State Golf Meets concluded recently, with Thunder Basin emerging as the champions in the girls' division and several standout performances from individual golfers across the state.
In the 4A West State Qualifier Meet held at Sheridan High School, the Lady Broncs of Sheridan narrowly missed qualifying for the state meet, finishing just one stroke short with a team score of 634 in the 4A East State Qualifier Meet at Kendrick Golf Course. Despite this, three Sheridan golfers - Camryn Wagner, Chloe Rose, and Hannah Barnes - qualified for the state meet individually.
The top 4 teams from the 4A East State Qualifier Meet secured a spot at the state meet. Campbell County finished in 2nd place with a score of 553, followed closely by Cheyenne Central in 3rd with 564, and Cheyenne East in 4th with 570. In a 4-way tie for 5th place were Cole Bunting and Deacon Webb of Sheridan.
Meanwhile, in the 3A East Conference Meet at Torrington, Cooper Meyers of Buffalo finished 6th individually, while Addison Bettinger of the same school claimed 3rd.
At the Wright Invitational, Tongue River dominated the event, with Easton Lewis and Savannah Tremain each finishing 1st on the boys and girls sides, respectively. Talitha Winfrey of Tongue River finished 3rd on the girls' side. Tongue River's girls team also won the meet, while the boys team finished 3rd.
The 4A Meet will take place at Cheyenne, the 3A Meet at Cody, and the 2A Meet at Douglas (with Lusk as the host). The 2025 State Golf Meets are scheduled for September 19th and 20th.
These results showcase the strong golfing talent across the United States, with many athletes looking forward to next year's competitions.
